Latest repairs…Dishwasher Slide Rollers, Datadesk Keyboard, Dream Machine.
The rollers on the upper basket of our Kitchenaid dishwasher are crumbling. They are losing teeth… Two lost all the teeth that hold the wheels on. So I tapped 5/16” coarse thread. A 5/16 hex bolt fits the wheel recess perfectly, I just turned down the top and made a screwdriver slot with the bandsaw. And it will work ok for a while longer. Note the zip ties holding the wheel assemblies to the basket, the clips that did so, do no longer. The Datadesk keyboard Max used for a while. It got a bit sticky…gross. Modular design… Has a separate board for the USB hub and input. I cleaned all teh switches with contact cleaner. It works fine now at my treadmill desk. All I did was take the housing off and clean the switch contacts. Not that exciting.

I think some of my stuff could use contact cleaning. I've never done it before - can you point me to a good how-to reference?
I'd just look at youtube videa, there are a bunch of people posting for various objects like amplifiers, etc. The quality is variable...
Basically you want to squirt a little contact cleaner into the switch and work the switch a bunch of times. Same with potentiometers as on volume controls, etc.
Thanks, Nick. Summer project!
