I need to clean the bathroom

This is what I found in my sink today. Any entomologists out there? It looks like a beetle being consumed by tiny spiders to me...
The beetle was sluggishly trying to climb the sink (it came from the drain? eek). I scooped it up and put it and the 100 spider babies outside for nature, or perverse abomination thereof, to take its course.
The beetle is roughly 1.25" long or so.

No worries about overeating at lunch for me!

I think the small ones are its' offspring. I've heard of some insects who carry their offspring on their backs before they're big enough to survive on their own.

Man, I'm getting creepy-crawlies just by looking at it.

If thinking they're the young allows you to sleep tonight, keep believing, but that bug was struggling...
It is seriously creepy any way you look at it.

Hey, I found his back right leg floating in my tea leaves this morning.

"put it and the 100 spider babies outside"

Thanks Nick.

Looks as if you've unleashed the beginnings of a swarm of flesh-eating nano insects to consume us all.
